The Development Decoders (TDD) is a group of passionate and experienced development professionals,
who have joined hands for providing techno-managerial support services to citizen’s groups, civil society
organizations and government line departments, in executing social research projects and development
program implementation targeted towards improving human development indicators. Thus, the agency
is working towards a vision of making social sector more efficient and professional in its approach and
execution.
TDD is registered as a partnership firm under the Indian Partnership Act 1932 and is also recognized as a
start-up by the Department for Promotion of Industries and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Start-up
India Program.
One of the problems that grassroot implementing agencies are facing is their inability to hire high-end staffs within their team, who not only can build and strengthen systems within the organization, but also present their work to the external world in a way that it gets acknowledged and recognized as transformative innovations. They are also lacking a team with skill sets to produce quality concepts and proposals for mobilizing resources for their transformative ideas. Another important gap that is often evidently visible in these agencies is the lack of systems and mechanisms in place for improving program efficiency and effectiveness, along with transparency and accountability in its processes. In the current situation, when the policy and legal framework has pushed technical agencies and international development agencies to start direct implementation without any sub-granting, the times have become very difficult for such grassroot implementation agencies who doesn’t have the systems or in-house skill set to compete with these international agencies. TDD aims to solve this problem by long term engagement with such agencies at reasonable price-points, where the services can be taken on a demand basis from time-to-time at their locations on a timely manner.
The current work experience of the TDD team is geared towards providing technical support to some of the key thematic areas, besides improving their internal systems and policies. The firm is equipped in providing technical support on health, nutrition, food security, WASH, education, child protection, livelihood promotion, natural resource management, gender, and social inclusion. Besides that, the firm can also execute social research projects like conducting baseline and endline studies; conducting evaluation studies; writing policy documents and analysis; situational assessments; need assessment exercises; and process documentation. TDD can also help agencies in strategic planning and establishment of real-time MIS using digital platforms. The firms can help civil society organizations and government in developing high quality and client specific communication materials. Thus, it provides a one-stop solution for government and non-government agencies.
